Tyger Gallery

The region’s most beautiful commercial art gallery.

To create Tyger, we’ve taken a derelict and neglected space in the heart of this historic town and turned it into the region’s most beautiful art gallery.

It’s a must-see and must-visit in the Canberra region.

Tyger Gallery is open Thursday to Monday 10-3 (Sunday 11-3pm). Other times are available by appointment.

CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS
  • Petrichor – open now | Chantal de Kock

Petrichor is a new solo show by Chantal de Kock, presenting a series of dreamlike landscapes shaped by memory, emotion and healing. Working intuitively with earth pigments, Chantal creates imagined terrains where land becomes a holder of feeling.

  • Living Arts Canberra – Chantal de Kock interview

Barbie Robinson from Living Arts Canberra sat down with Chantal de Kock in the gallery during opening weekend of Petrichor – a beautiful conversation about clouds, earth pigments, and the calm that comes after rain. Listen to the audio via the link below.

  • Edge of the Water – Seascape Painting Workshop

    Sun 22 Feb, 1.30–3.30pm

Join artist Jenny Blake for a relaxed, hands-on seascape painting workshop exploring the meeting point of land and sea. This small-group session invites participants to slow down, experiment with colour, light and movement, and spend time painting in a supportive setting. Suitable for all levels, with all materials provided. Places are limited.

  • Rob Snarski + Lindy Morrison – Live at Tyger

Rob Snarski (Blackeyed Susans) and Lindy Morrison (The Go-Betweens) will play an intimate duo show at Tyger on Saturday 14 March at 2pm. With only 30 seats available, this will be a rare chance to hear two iconic Australian musicians up close in the beautiful acoustics of the gallery. Tickets on sale now – bookings essential.

  • Tyger Projects - open for applications now

Tyger Projects are short-run shows that bring a focused body of work onto the walls at the gallery for a limited time. Designed for artists with work ready to show, they offer a low-pressure, time-bound opportunity to share new work in the gallery.

  • Tyger in Country Style

We featured in Country Style’s article on nine regional galleries who were showing at the Sydney Affordable Art Fair. It’s a lovely celebration of regional creativity, community and the incredible artists who make our world so full of beauty and imagination.
