We offer classes and workshops throughout the year in the gallery. They are suitable for absolute beginners or those wanting to brush up their skills. All materials and refreshments are provided. The workshops are focused on having relaxed creative fun.

    To mark the closing of the Kim Nelson Retrospective, we’re bringing back The Drawing Room for one very special afternoon at Tyger.

    Led once again by the outstanding artist Sara Phemister, this relaxed life drawing session will feature our returning model Tori Addams, draped in the iconic Red Shawl – a recurring motif in Kim’s work.

    The Drawing Room is about slowing down, connecting, and celebrating the act of drawing in an open, supportive atmosphere. Whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a pencil for the first time, you’ll be guided through exercises that explore form, gesture and expression.

  • The Voice of Youth - kids' painting workshop

    Join artist Sara Phemister for a fun, hands-on workshop where young creatives will design bold, colourful canvases using paint markers.

    Here’s the exciting part — your designs will help inspire emerging artist Calvin Morgan as he repaints the picnic tables and seats in Coronation Park (near the Visitor Information Centre). Your artwork will live on as part of a public art project for the whole community to enjoy for years to come!

    Calvin’s final painted tabletops will join the PAINT THE TOWN Street Art Tour, replacing the old tabletop murals and bringing a fresh burst of creativity to this much-loved park.

    This is your chance to:
    - Create a vibrant canvas to take home
    - Contribute ideas for a lasting public artwork
    - Be part of Yass’s creative story

    The workshop is presented by Southern Tablelands Arts in partnership with Tyger Gallery.
