Karen Visser

Karen Visser is a painter, photographer and crocheter and has been the Chairperson of the Yass Art and Craft Cooperative for more than 25 years.

She has been painting in ink and watercolour for more than a decade, has taken online classes with Scott Swinson and Nicki Traikos, and has recently expanded her acrylic skills as a member of the Art of Flow online community led by Gabbi Lancaster Kitchener.

She is a member of the Visual Arts Society of Yass (VASY) and of Southern Tablelands Arts (STA).

Her works have been included in group shows such as the:

Natureart Lab ‘Reflections on Nature – An artist in residency exhibition’ at the Old Barn in Pialligo (February 2023)
‘Earth Unframed’ at the Belconnen Arts Centre (March 2023)
Strathnairn Gallery ‘Squares’ Exhibition (August 2023).

Pet portraits and other works have been donated to support animal rescue fundraising nationally.

Karen is a current Committee member of the Yass Valley Cat Rescue organisation and will donate 50 per cent of the proceeds from her exhibition at Tyger Gallery to that organisation.
