Yass-based painter Alan Harding has a wonderful eye for the familiar things we don't always stop to notice. Working from sketches and photographs, he captures light and shadow across still lifes, landscapes and streetscapes. A finalist in the 2022 Calleen Art Award, Alan has had two enormously successful shows at Tyger Gallery, with almost every painting sold.

Alan lives in Yass. Visual art has always been a passion and occupation in one form or another: he trained as a Secondary School Art teacher, studied art history and curatorship, and later graphic design. As well as teaching, he has run a retail business for over 20 years specialising in Australian craftwork.
Although he has always drawn and painted, recently he has been able to devote an increasing amount of time to his own art practice.
Alan paints with oils - still lifes, landscapes, streetscapes and abstracts.
Alan Harding has had two sold out shows at Tyger and had his work at Affordable Art Fair Sydney, 2025.
