  • Jaqueline was born in South Africa and trained and studied Fine Art. She travelled to Europe to work as an artist, muralist, and art teacher at a private school in London.

Jaqueline now resides in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, on the east coast of Australia, and works full-time from her home studio.

As a finalist in the Lethbridge 20000 in 2023, the Arts In The Valley in 2022, and a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran

National Portrait Prize in 2016, Jaqueline’s work moves between landscapes and portrait painting.

She recently completed twelve landscape paintings for a dual exhibition for Gallery Alchemy, fulfilling a milestone in her art career.

  • “This body of work delves into abstraction through a focused examination of the ancient rock formations along Tasmania's East Coast.

By dissecting these weathered surfaces in detail, the paintings uncover intricate patterns and transcendental shapes that transition between the textured close-up of mottled rock and ethereal galaxies of luminous colour.

The delicate, lace-like brushwork embraces the contours of the curvaceous forms, imbuing them with a radiant, glowing presence.”

    Jaqueline Burgess, 2024.

  • Shipping to anywhere in Australia is just $80 for this work. International shipping is available on request.
