  • Emily Eldridge is a landscape artist from Margaret River, Western Australia.

Emily sells her work locally and nationally, and has been showcased in established Western Australian Galleries in the past few years.

As one of the 155 artists in the largest Open Studios event in Australia, Emily welcomed over 500 guests through her studio nestled in among the forest of marri trees for a sell out show.

Having taught and led in the Education system for 17 years, Emily now owns a city studio in Subiaco (Perth). On her weeks in the city, Emily mentors and nurtures the teaching skills of established artists so they can run workshops of their own.

Emily is inspired by the hectare of gorgeous trees on her property on Illawarra Avenue, the magnificent trees of Boranup Forest and the coastline of the southwest. She experiments with make marking, texture, shape and colour inspired by the region’s natural palette of umber, golds, rich greens and southern ocean blues.

The marked golden orbs in Emily’s work are a consistent theme. This universal symbol for energy offsets the linear shape of the trees but is also an energetic representation of the life force these forests hold. It is Emily’s ode to trees and the environment; a thank you to their integral part of her healing and her immense respect for the land.

  • “The marri trees stand like silent bodies of wisdom. The textures of the bark in this piece are thickly layered with metallic paint that change in the light of the day, much like a forest does from sun up to sun down. She offers quiet solitude and reflection, and the beautiful spring energy of the forest.”
