Claire Cummack is a semi-abstract, whimsical artist who paints with acrylics. Her work is characterised by layered, bold colour and simplified, almost naïve subject matter. An intuitive artist, Claire’s works are joyful, and abundant, using nature as the vehicle for emotional connection.
Known for her still life pieces and landscapes, she incorporates a sense of movement, humour and abundance within her work.
Painting from her sunlit garden studio in Melbourne, she believes that life is too short to paint anything that does not bring joy or inspiration – she always aims to touch the heart and bring a smile. Beginning with a feeling, a memory, Claire explores the story through multiple layers of paint and texture, adding depth and complexity, until the final piece is revealed.
Originally trained as an Architect, Claire’s passion has always been painting. In 2023, she decided to pursue this passion professionally. Her career began when named a finalist in ‘The Next Big Thing’ art exhibition.
Now, she is a represented artist for Aspire Gallery and Tyger Gallery. A Finalist in 'Inside this Box" in 2022, 2023 and 2025 at The Corner Store Gallery. A Collaborator in the Tyger Gallery Group Shows Summer Showcase and A Life in Colour. Claire has achieved great success at the Affordable Art Fairs 2024, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney (Aspire Gallery) and is on track to be as successful this year.

“Presence, to me, is about sitting in the moment and gently holding all that is precious in life. It is that moment when you are fully present, aware of the incredible beauty and abundance that surrounds you and the love in which we are all held. It is the times when you count your blessings and realise how rich you are in all the little things, the only things that matter.
“These pieces explore the simplicity of an abundant life as depicted by a range of floral still lifes.
“Abundance on a Plate is a satirical look at the beauty we have, all around, everyday, which at times we just don't see, unless it is served to us on a platter.
“It is a reminder to count our blessings for the simple things that all add up to the most abundant joyful life.”
Claire Cummack, 2025.
