Casual Gallery Assistant (Part-time)

Tyger Gallery is one of the region’s most beautiful contemporary art spaces, created from a love of art, deep respect for artists, and a mission to help them thrive.

From our stunning home in the front of Yass Memorial Hall, we host an exciting program of shows that showcase extraordinary Australian talent – and we’re looking for someone wonderful to join us.

About the role

This is a casual, part-time role working closely with the Tyger Team to keep the gallery running smoothly. You’ll be welcoming visitors, supporting sales, handling stock and admin, and helping prepare and present exhibitions. You may also assist at show openings and other special events.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• A genuine love of art and a desire to contribute to a vibrant creative space

• Warm, friendly interpersonal skills and retail experience

• The ability to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for our visitors

• Flexibility, initiative and strong problem-solving skills

• Competence with computers and basic office software
  

Nice to have:

• Studies in art, museums or curatorship

• Experience with social media content creation
