Serena Entwistle is an emerging artist based in Port Macquarie, Australia, working primarily in oil, charcoal and pastel.
Her figurative practice centres the female form, exploring strength, resilience and embodied presence. Through intimate and expressive works, Entwistle seeks to honour women as powerful equals, celebrating intimacy and sensuality as inherent and rightful expressions of feminine strength.
In July 2025, Entwistle presented Therapy, a deeply personal solo exhibition exploring a more intimate body of work. The exhibition charted a process of healing through making, emerging from a period of self-examination and emotional reckoning. Rather than suppressing discomfort, this body of work arose from consciously engaging with it – using painting as a way to access awareness, release and renewal.
Entwistle describes this period of painting as a freeing process, allowing the work to unfold intuitively and honestly in response to inner experience.

“As part of my solo exhibition 'Therapy' and inspired by Chappell Roan’s song 'Kaleidoscope', this work delves into the emotional depth of love, intimacy, and loss.
“The couple’s embrace symbolises the deep connection and care they share—a final gesture of tenderness before parting. The woman’s expression reveals her reluctance to let go, capturing the ache of holding on to someone dear. Blue tones convey sorrow, while red evokes the sharp pain of separation.
“Through these colours and gestures, the work explores the beauty of human connection and the grief that comes when love must be released, even when it still lives in the heart.”
