Carbine is a Yass-based artist whose artworks are an intimate study of interconnectedness: the complex relationships between humans, animals, and the natural world.
His artistic process is a practice of deep, patient listening and contemplative awareness—a stillness that allows him to perceive the subtle, sustained energy and reciprocal dependencies of life.
Working across many disciplines, Carbine crafts miniature narratives, capturing an intimate moment frozen in time. These works share photography's ability to depict an entire scenario in a single image.
It is here that he applies his central ideology: that "Artists make dreams for those who are awake," illuminating the magic which exists in everyday life.

“Returning
“The Bogong moth undertakes an impressive annual migration, travelling thousands of kilometers from the lowlands returning to the Australian Alps.
“Once a prominent feature in our landscape, the moth has declined in number by an estimated 99.5 per cent, earning it a place on the endangered species list. This piece consists of two carved wooden vessels and hand sewn moths.”
Carbine, 2025.
