Trained as an Interior Designer, Allison’s career was as a Freelance Photographic Stylist, working for major interior design magazines as a Contributor and Editor then advertising and consulting to Domayne as Creative Director. While styling interiors and homewares, Allison became obsessed with vessels and decorative ceramic forms.
Allison has completed a Diploma of Ceramics and works from her home studio in Manly. The foundation shapes of her work are wheel formed then she adds, changes, alters or attaches elements to achieve interesting pieces. Her development of glazes and surfaces always provide visual interest, mixing matt with glossy, rough with smooth in a limited black or white palette.
Allison has exhibited at several galleries in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and was a finalist is Klytie Pate Ceramics Prize and Bowral Small Sculpture Prize, group shows include Fables and Folklore Craft Victoria, Inspire and Involve CBD Gallery Sydney and Sydney Ceramics Market Exhibition.
